Cookie dough... DOH!

I learned something very important today about cookie dough- it gets extremely hard when left in the fridge for a few days! Really, I should have figured that might happen... In an effort to soften the dough to a point where I can form it into balls, the big glass mixing bowl I got from Charles' mom for Christmas is sitting in front of my heater, full of hard dough and my hopes that it will soften... who knows!
The recipe is right here and it's a pretty easy one. I increased the cooking time about 5 minutes and decreased the ball size to about 1 teaspoon- the original cookies are just huge!  Somehow i think I doubled the salt in the recipe- but that's only me being hyper-critical... maybe I didn't at all!

Because they have oats in them you can tell yourself they're health food, just try not to think of the 1/2 pound of butter in them.  Charles told me they were good enough to sell, so give 'em a try!

  1. I don't completely understand the posting etc. I posted yesterday, but don't see it.

I was thinking that even a relatively experienced cook makes crazy mistakes about things maybe I should know, but don't. Like you can't melt Swiss cheese in a soup....it lies like play doh! on the bottom of the pan. Hmmm?
